HoYoverse has officially unveiled Genshin Impact’s 5.8 update, titled “Sunspray Summer Resort,” which is the traditional summer-themed expansion for the game.

However, don’t be fooled: The arrival of character Ineffa in Version 6.0 will unveil numerous secrets and folklore for Nod-Krai, our next destination. This includes moon mythology, a reference to a specific Fatui Harbinger, as well as the summer festival that offers a glimpse into the Mare Jivari, one of the longstanding mysteries since the game’s beginning. In the upcoming Genshin Impact 5.8, a robot named Ineffa from Nod-Krai will make an appearance on the banners alongside reruns from Natlan. Ineffa was crafted by the brilliant techno-genius Aino and is currently searching for both the Traveler and Paimon. The reason behind this search will be revealed in the Archon Quest titled “Song of the Welkin Moon Prelude: The Journey Home”.

In the yearly event for this season, titled “Sunspray Summer Resort: Breezy Getaway“, introduces an enduring narrative element to the game. Unlike past summer events, it won’t be confined to a singular iteration. Throughout the storyline, players will find themselves visiting Natlan’s recently developed beach resort, where both familiar and ancient acquaintances will be present. Additionally, there’s hinted lore about Mare Jivari, and it appears to involve Bennett, with a confrontation against a Rhinedottir creation looming. As the game evolves, more regions of Mare Jivari will open up in upcoming versions.

For the Sunspray Summer Resort event during version 5.8 of Genshin Impact, there will be several mini-games to enjoy as part of this time-limited occasion:

  • Travels Are Fuller With Friends – physics-based 2D platforming game
  • Strikers Through the Storm – sharpshooting game
  • With Flying (Graffitti) Colors – Splatoon-inspired spraypainting game
  • A Feat for the Senses – combat event with rhythm game elements

Rewards include a skin for Bennett, an event-exclusive 4-Star Claymore, and Primogems.

The following additional events will be available during Genshin Impact 5.8:

  • Tracing Vanishing Trails – Investigation event with Yelan; rewards include Primogems.
  • Mementos of Teyvat: Prelude of the Frozen Veil – photography event; rewards include Primogems.
  • Natlan: Plains of Flowing Flames – new content and instrument for Repertoire of Myriad Melodies; rewards include Primogems.
  • Ley Line Overflow – double drops from Ley Line Blossoms.

Instead of offering a transient map exclusive to this summer’s event, the event this year will occur in a brand-new section of Natlan, which will be open and accessible long-term.
