As a die-hard fan of sci-fi horror, I can tell you this: the Xenomorph is downright terrifying on its own. But imagine if it gathered four of its kind for a group excursion? That’s not an “Avengers Assemble” moment I’d ever want to witness! However, that’s exactly what we’re in store for in the upcoming series Alien: Earth on FX. The trailer for this exciting new take on the Alien universe teases five terrifying creatures, “five new life forms from distant planets,” poised to wreak havoc on Earth. To make matters worse, these beasts aren’t just mindless killers; they also bring up profound questions about humanity, and boast an impressive cast featuring Sydney Chandler, Timothy Olyphant, and many others. This promises to be a gripping tale that will keep us at the edge of our seats!

In this intriguing trailer for Alien: Earth, you’ll find a sense of ominous uncertainty, a looming sheep, and a commanding presence reminiscent of Timothy Olyphant. Yes, it doesn’t disappoint with its signature Xenomorph, but for now, it keeps its distance. The series tantalizingly hints at the arrival of its main character, though we anticipate intense encounters involving blood and face-hugging when the Xenomorph ultimately makes his appearance.
In order to provide clarity regarding the Alien: Earth trailer, FX has additionally provided an extensive explanation about the series. This leaves us questioning if the five creatures mentioned in the trailer correspond to the five alien species that have escaped on Earth, or if they symbolize the five corporations controlling Earth during the series’ timeframe. We suspect we already know the true answer.
Alien: Earth’s description reads:
In the year 2120, the Earth is ruled by five major corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic, and Threshold. This era is known as the Corporate Age, during which cyborgs (individuals with both organic and mechanical components) and synthetics (robots resembling humans with artificial intelligence) coexist with humans. However, the dynamics shift when the brilliant Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unveils a groundbreaking technological breakthrough: hybrids (humanoid robots imbued with human consciousness). The initial hybrid prototype, named “Wendy,” signals a new chapter in the quest for eternal life. Unfortunately, a collision between Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship and Prodigy City results in “Wendy” and other hybrids encountering alien creatures more fearsome than anyone could have foreseen.
Under Chandler’s direction, the series boasts a diverse global ensemble, featuring actors like Timothy Olyphant as “Kirsh”, Alex Lawther as “Hermit”, Samuel Blenkin as “Boy Kavalier”, Babou Ceesay as “Morrow”, Adrian Edmondson as “Atom Eins”, David Rysdahl as “Arthur Sylvia”, Essie Davis as “Dame Sylvia”, Lily Newmark as “Nibs”, Erana James as “Curly”, Adarsh Gourav as “Slightly”, Jonathan Ajayi as “Smee”, Kit Young as “Tootles”, Diêm Camille as “Siberian”, Moe Bar-El as “Rashidi” and Sandra Yi Sencindiver as “Yutani”.
Starting August 12 at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, both Hulu and the FX cable network will air the first two episodes of the series “Alien: Earth”. Simultaneously, international viewers can watch it on Disney+. New episodes will be released weekly thereafter. Spanning eight episodes in total, we’re eagerly anticipating how the “Alien: Earth” trailer brings the story to life.
