Emma Watson’s acting hiatus

During her break from acting, news surfaced that Emma Watson might be barred from driving due to some issue. It’s worth noting that she enrolled in a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at Oxford University starting from September 2024, which explains her recent absence from the public eye.

In an interview with British Vogue towards the end of 2023, the actress from Beauty and the Beast shared her gratitude for taking a hiatus from acting. She expressed feeling empowered, having a sense of self-expression, independence, and control over her creative space that she hadn’t experienced before to such an extent – a newfound autonomy.

She also mentioned, “It’s wonderful that I embraced some uncertainty for a while, giving myself the freedom to be unsure about what was coming up next. The understanding I’ve gained from this experience, I wouldn’t give it up for anything.

More recently, Watson made a seldom-seen appearance at the NBA match that the actress went to in February.

In late May, Emma Watson, famously known for her role in Harry Potter, graced the Cannes Film Festival as well. It was a 12-year gap since she last attended the festival. She made a grand comeback on the festival’s legendary red carpet.
