The Oscars have announced the musical performances for the 98th Academy Awards. This year’s show will feature songs inspired by two films the producers believe are big cultural trends: Sinners and KPop Demon Hunters.
Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, the show’s executive producers, explained that the musical portions of the series will be designed as cinematic homages, emphasizing the connection between music and narrative. They see this combination as the core of the show’s creative approach.

KPop Demon Hunters brings “Golden” to the Oscars stage
The KPop Demon Hunters segment begins with a blend of traditional Korean music and dance, showcasing the folklore and cultural roots of the popular animated series.
The singers EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who together form the group HUNTR/X, will perform “Golden,” the song from the movie that was nominated for an Oscar.

Sinners performance includes “I Lied To You” and a stacked lineup
The “Sinners” performance will showcase how music is central to the film’s narrative, bringing that storytelling to life in a special, cinematic presentation at the Oscars.
Miles Caton and Raphael Saadiq will perform their Oscar-nominated song, “I Lied To You.” They’ll be joined on stage by a group of talented performers including Misty Copeland, Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, Shaboozey, and Alice Smith, as part of a special tribute inspired by the film’s unique look and feel.
Josh Groban and Los Angeles Master Chorale also set to appear
Josh Groban and the Los Angeles Master Chorale will be appearing on the show, and even more performers will be announced soon as the event date approaches.
