Isabelle Tate, the 23-year-old actress known for her role in 9-1-1: Nashville, has sadly passed away from a rare neurological condition. Her representative confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that she died on October 19th.
According to her agent, Kim McCray of The McCray Agency, Isabelle ‘Izzy’ Tate passed away peacefully after a battle with a rare condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association in Tate’s memory, as McCray mentioned.
I’ve learned that Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, or CMT, is something you inherit, and it affects your nerves, especially in your arms and legs. That’s what the Mayo Clinic explains, anyway.
This condition can cause symptoms like numbness, weakness, tingling, muscle loss, pain, and changes in the shape of the foot. Some people also have trouble with balance or other bodily functions. Although there’s no way to completely fix it, treatments such as physical therapy, braces, surgery, and medication can help control the symptoms.
Carter Hastings appeared in the first episode of 9-1-1: Nashville, which premiered on October 9th. This show is connected to the original 9-1-1 series and features Chris O’Donnell, Jessica Capshaw, and country music star LeAnn Rimes.
I recently read Tate’s obituary, and what really struck me was how vividly it portrayed her spirit. She wasn’t defined by any challenges she faced – in fact, the obituary specifically mentioned she refused to make excuses. She was described as incredibly passionate and determined, a real fighter. Beyond that, she was a talented musician, constantly writing and recording songs with her friends, and even managed to get some of her work published. It painted a picture of a truly vibrant and creative person.
Alan Jackson, the popular country singer, shared in 2021 that he was diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). Because of health issues related to the condition, he plans to retire from touring with a final concert in 2026.
The unexpected death of Tate has deeply saddened both her fans and those who worked with her, who will remember her as a talented, driven, and imaginative person. Her loved ones and fans are now celebrating her life and working to increase understanding of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
