60 Day Hustle Season 1: Everything That Happened On The First Episode

As an ardent fan of reality shows, especially those that delve into the world of entrepreneurship, I was absolutely thrilled when Amazon Prime Video unveiled “60 Day Hustle.” The first episode, much like the contestants’ businesses, was a rollercoaster ride full of twists, turns, and high-stakes challenges.

Amazon Prime Video’s newest reality show, titled “60 Day Hustle,” debuted on Thursday, August 8. This series delves into the authentic struggles of ambitious young entrepreneurs as they strive to elevate their small businesses and win a $100,000 cash reward by overcoming challenges along the way.

Contestants are given a period of 60 days to risk it all and demonstrate that their entrepreneurial skills warrant the effort, with renowned marketing personality Rudy Mawer providing assistance along the journey in the form of mentoring, advice, and monetary aid.

The show “60 Day Hustle” is created by the media agency Sonic Gods, which was established by its hosts Michelle Delamor, Chris Hayman, and Adamn Horner.

What happened on 60 Day Hustle Episode 1?

In Episode 1, Day 1, we meet the contestants who will compete in the initial season of “60 Day Hustle,” striving to surpass expectations and grow their businesses. The episode begins with Michelle Delamore, founder of Sonic Gods Studio and creator of this reality show, making her introduction.

She described the show as a “speedy incubator for innovation,” where aspiring entrepreneurs could advance two years’ worth of business progress in just a single month. One by one, contestants presented themselves, revealing details about their side ventures and businesses. Lastly, Rudy Mawer, a renowned marketer and business guru, joined the scene.

Alongside him, the initial test of the 60 Day Hustle presented itself: a five-minute task for the contestants to jot down their business ideas on napkins. This seasoned marketer, aged 33 and renowned for his role in creating multi-billion dollar ventures, hinted that this challenge aimed to assess whether the chosen entrepreneurs truly grasped the practical aspects of their proposed businesses. In private, he shared this insight in a confessional.

Subsequently, the competitors were invited to present their business concepts live for potential investment consideration. After evaluating these pitches, Maver provided some helpful advice and hints, informing them that they must pitch their ideas to industry leaders within a minute the following day. The four least compelling pitches would result in the contestants being eliminated from the competition.

Which contestants were sent home?

On the second day of 60 Day Hustle, contestants prepared themselves for an intense day as Maver brought in Matt Easton, founder of Easton University. Matt shared his expertise about business development with each competitor on stage, preparing them for a pitching session later in the day. Matt generously offered training and guidance to all participants.

MAWER unexpectedly shortened the time allotted for each entrepreneur’s pitch on stage, reducing it from 60 seconds to just 30 seconds.

1. Dario started off by presenting his kids’ company, Dinostores, followed by proposals from sisters Tam and Nya for their candle technology app, Moon + Heart. Next up were Niki and Tiffany, who presented their brand, Went There Loved That, with the goal of enhancing the digital travel sector.

In this scenario, Chiara presented Chichi, her chickpea breakfast brand, on stage, while Fancy discussed ideas for her perfume line, Simply Fancy. Sededra showcased Adda Band Extensions, a hair extension company, and the youngest participant, Mehmet (age 19), displayed his cake business, Mosaic Cakes.

1. Erik presented Saturday Sweets; Vijue Beauty disclosed the possibilities of plastic-free beauty items; Kalyne showcased the luxury wellness brand Mas Vida, while Marcus unveiled shoe brand Marcus Alexander, and Joshua introduced his golf wear brand, J. Butler Golf.

After carefully evaluating all the brand and business proposals, the judges eliminated Viju Beauty, Mosaic Cake, Simple Fancy, and Saturday Sweets from the competition. Following this, the remaining contestants were invited to Dr. Bill Dorfman’s house, the inventor of Zoom Teeth Whitening, for a sumptuous meal.

60 Day Hustle debuted with all 10 episodes of Season 1, now available to stream on Prime Video.
