50 Cent is thrilled with how well his new Netflix documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs is doing, and he jokingly teased the popular show Stranger Things while celebrating.
The artist shared some posts on Instagram about his involvement with the documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning and also playfully referenced the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. In one post, he joked that Stranger Things might be upset after reportedly spending $500 million on its latest season, only to be overshadowed by the events surrounding Diddy. He shared this thought with an image and a sad-face emoji.
50 Cent recently shared a photo from what appeared to be a Netflix meeting room, playfully boasting about the success of his show. He wrote, “This is my third meeting with Netflix today. Look, I know you invested a lot in Stranger Things, but it can’t compete with me. I’m number one in 43 countries and number two in 8 – just the facts!”

Despite some potential inaccuracies in the reported viewership figures, the Netflix docuseries about Sean Combs has been a hit. “Sean Combs: The Reckoning,” which launched on December 2nd, garnered 21.8 million views in its first six days, as reported by Variety. This is especially noteworthy considering Netflix only announced the series a week beforehand, and Diddy’s legal team had challenged the project.

50 Cent and Diddy have a complicated past, so 50 Cent’s participation in the recent documentary series caused some debate. He explained to Good Morning America that he felt he needed to speak up. “If I stayed silent,” he said, “people would assume hip-hop accepted Diddy’s actions.”
I’ve noticed a lot of people in this industry just don’t talk about what’s going on, and it feels like everyone’s quietly accepting it. It’s like no one wants to speak up, and there’s this unspoken rule to stay out of it. It’s as if by staying silent, people are unintentionally signaling that they’re okay with the behavior, even if they aren’t.
While 50 Cent’s comments were lighthearted, the docuseries proved that a well-made, highly publicized project can still attract a large audience, even when competing with a massive hit on Netflix.
