50. Hera Pheri (2000)
The storyline centers around an unusual threesome: Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, a garage owner with a funny side and a big heart (portrayed by Paresh Rawal), Raju, a clever and sly bum (Akshay Kumar), and Shyam, a humble and financially strapped man (Sunil Shetty). Their lives intertwine in a series of absurd escapades, featuring comedic antics from Paresh Rawal.
Baburao is an Indian farmer with poor eyesight and frequent financial struggles. One of his renters, Raja, has fallen behind on rent payments for quite some time. Another tenant, Shyam, lives on the property as well, having moved from the city in search of employment at his deceased father’s workplace, but has yet to find success in that endeavor.
The trio often have heated disagreements among themselves. Later, they receive a call from a kidnapper named Kabira. In an attempt to resolve their financial troubles, they devise a plan to pretend to be the actual kidnappers, inflate the ransom demand, pocket the extra money, and then pay Kabira the original ransom amount as promised. Can they successfully pull this off?
49. Khakee (2004)
Khakee is a narrative revolving around ACP Anant Kumar, portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. Shortly following this, Anant is assigned the responsibility of transporting suspected terrorist Iqbal Ansari (Atul Kulkarni) to Mumbai for his trial. Along the journey, Inspector Shekhar Verma (Akshay Kumar) and Sub-inspector Ashwin Gupte (Tushaar Kapoor) accompany Anant.
In the concluding task of his duty, DCP Ananth Srivastava will escort detained suspect Dr. Iqbal Ansari from Chandangarh to Mumbai for a court trial. Upon successful completion of this assignment, he is set to receive a promotion and retire as an Additional Commissioner.
Senior Inspector Shekhar Verma has recently put Ashwin Gupte, an ideal candidate, into the role of Sub-Inspector. His team consists of Constables Sawant and Mhatre. This group encounters Mahalaxmi, a woman who can identify individuals connected to Ansari’s suspected network upon their arrival in Chandangarh. Meanwhile, Ananth and his crew manage to dodge explosives designed to eliminate them by the narrowest of margins.
As I journeyed back towards Mumbai, it dawned on me that the adversary we’re up against is not only privy to our every strategic move but is relentless in their pursuit of Ansari. Shocking truths unravel along the way, testing not just our combat prowess, but our trust in the justice system as a whole. As a cinephile, I can’t help but feel that this is the climactic twist in our story.
48. Parvarish (1977)

In the film “Parvarish” (Upbringing), the traditional tale of siblings representing good and evil is presented with a delightful, comedic spin.
In a somewhat rotund police officer’s (resembling Shammi Kapoor) words, he consoles the grieving wife of a bandit that her newly born child wouldn’t be raised by his father. He takes the baby back to his own home, where his wife was tending to their young son, and over time, they both grow up as brothers. Unbeknownst to them, the foundling becomes a part of their family history.
In a twist of fate, Amitabh Bachchan, the offspring of a bandit, later becomes a law enforcer, mirroring his adoptive father’s profession. Conversely, Vinod Khanna, the genuine son of a policeman, turns out to be a criminal who allies with the villain Amjad Khan, now residing in a lavish hideout adorned with artificial stalactites and go-go dancers performing behind a red glass partition to music audible only to them. Isn’t it intriguing to imagine oneself in such an unusual setting?

Determined to resist this, the children decide to take action against it.

As a dedicated cinephile, I find myself compelled to recount a tale about an individual named Puri, who seems more preoccupied with self-interest than the wellbeing of his team. His reckless actions endanger the lives of those under him in pursuit of personal profit, while denying them any form of benefits or healthcare.
In stark contrast, we have Vijay, a courageous soul who dares to challenge this status quo by risking his own life to safeguard the lives of his fellow workers from Puri’s relentless wrath. In doing so, Vijay attempts to conquer his fear of mortality and uphold justice in this unjust environment.

In high circles, he was affectionately known as TIGER, similar to the famous Bollywood star Salman Khan.
In Dublin, Ireland, a tiger is sent on a task that appears straightforward and safe: monitoring an Indian-origin researcher under suspicion of sharing secrets with Pakistan’s military authority. However, the mission proves challenging when Tiger struggles to meet the scientist and instead befriends Zoya, his part-time housekeeper (played by Katrina Kaif). In my movie-loving perspective, when those twin duos, Ashok and Bahadur, make their grand entrance, a whirlwind of confusion and mix-ups takes over, leaving us all scratching our heads. You see, it’s hard to tell who’s responsible for the mishaps that keep cropping up in their daily routines. And wouldn’t you know it, they’re quick to point fingers at each other, casting blame left and right!

Despite the media depicting her as a perfect hero – characterized by her blue eyes, black hair, towering height, and striking good looks – she was, in essence, just an ordinary Indian woman. This discrepancy between the portrayal and reality created challenges for the film to satisfy audience expectations while remaining truthful to her actual identity.

21. Chashme Buddoor (1981)
Previously, Bollywood films were known for their humor that was more pronounced compared to nowadays. Despite some stories not being very engaging, the comedic delivery by actors was always on point. Characters like Omi and Jai (portrayed by Rakesh Bedi and Ravi Baswani) were two bachelors who were unsuccessful in their attempts to woo the new girl in town.
With great joy, it’s apparent that their reserved, library-loving third housemate has triumphed. In a bid to maintain their privacy and avoid embarrassment, the duo devises humorous strategies to distance the two smitten individuals.
