3 Best Horror Movies to Watch on Prime Video This Weekend: 25 – 26 Jan

One type of movie that can leave you feeling terrified, give you chills running down your spine, and make you ponder a lot is horror. Certain filmmakers have been exceptional at crafting thought-provoking narratives for the screen, often presenting their stories in a dreamlike manner.

If you enjoy being immersed in chilling stories that might linger in your thoughts long after you’ve finished watching, here are my top three horror movie recommendations for your weekend viewing pleasure.

Eraserhead

Let’s start by discussing the first film directed by one of the renowned directors who sadly passed away, David Lynch. This groundbreaking director introduced us to a genre known as body horror with this movie. The narrative revolves around Henry Spencer, a man seeking tranquility in his life alongside his wife and a peculiar child. The child is shrouded in mystery, given his otherworldly appearance that vaguely resembles a monster seen occasionally throughout the film.

Indeed, I find myself deeply empathizing with the Spencers, as their little one seems unwilling to feed and cries persistently. It’s a heart-wrenching situation that only adds to their distress.

Speak No Evil

James Watkins’ latest film, Speak No Evil, boasts an impressive cast including James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis. With such a stellar lineup, it’s no surprise that the story has captured the attention of many. In this movie, a family encounters the sinister aspects of life during their much-anticipated weekend at a secluded countryside home.

Hereditary

In simpler terms, this horror movie offers more than just sudden fright moments; it creates a chilling ambiance to evoke intense and eerie feelings in viewers. Notably starring Toni Collette, the film delves into one of the most haunting depictions of malevolence.
