Riot Games is initiating a private testing phase for their upcoming fighting game named 2XKO, commencing on September 9, 2025. This trial will be accessible via PC. Players who participated in previous tests, regardless of platform, are granted immediate access to this test, while newcomers can register on the official website.
It appears that Riot is viewing this closed beta as a preliminary release of the game, aiming to keep it operational (except during required maintenance). This is a significant move for them. They’re about to roll out their backend systems on a larger scale for the first time, so there might be some initial rough patches, but they plan to smooth things out as they progress.
In simpler terms, Riot has announced that when their game becomes accessible across multiple platforms, cross-progression will be activated. This means that players who start on a PC can easily transition to other platforms without any progress or items being lost.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Vi, a prominent character from the Arcane anime, has been added to the roster of the game’s characters. She is set to make her first appearance during the closed beta testing. At EVO 2025, the annual grand fighting game tournament, attendees will have the chance to test Vi out at Riot’s exhibition booth.
