‘28 Years Later: The Bone Temple’ Reveals Chilling New Trailer and Poster

A new installment in the 28 Days Later series, titled 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, is scheduled for release on January 16, 2026. Sony Pictures will be distributing the film.

Nia DaCosta directed this new movie, with a script by Alex Garland. It continues the terrifying story that fans have been following for more than ten years, and was filmed at the same time as 28 Years Later. This will be the fourth film in the series.

Following the events of the last movie, the story centers on Spike, a teenager who gets caught up with a dangerous gang of acrobatic killers led by Sir Jimmy Crystal in a Britain still recovering from the Rage Virus. Meanwhile, Dr. Ian Kelson starts a new relationship that could have significant repercussions.

The film stars Ralph Fiennes as Dr. Ian Kelson, Jack O’Connell as the charismatic but dangerous Sir Jimmy Crystal, and Alfie Williams as Spike. Erin Kellyman plays Jimmy Ink, one of Crystal’s followers, and Chi Lewis-Parry is Samson, a powerful and imposing infected individual. Aaron Taylor-Johnson returns as Jamie, Spike’s father, and Cillian Murphy reprises his role as Jim, a survivor from the initial outbreak. Rounding out the cast are Emma Laird, Maura Bird, and David Taylor-Johnson.

A new trailer and poster have given fans a better preview of the upcoming horror movie. The first trailer was released on September 3, 2025, and a second followed on December 3, 2025. Both trailers hint at the film’s frightening world and give viewers a feel for the intense story and what’s at risk.

A follow-up to The Bone Temple is currently being created, and it will continue the story of a world changed by the Rage Virus.
