As a big fan of anime, I’m always impressed by how cleverly ‘Detective Conan’ is put together. The main character, Conan, is this little kid with incredible detective skills – he can figure out who committed a crime using just the smallest clues, often leaving the adults looking totally lost! He’s a gadget whiz, too, able to manage tricky situations and even control entire rooms without the bad guys knowing he’s there. What I really love is how the show throws him into these fast-paced puzzles where he has to set elaborate traps to catch the real criminal. It’s just brilliant!
Kaguya Shinomiya
A-1 Pictures expertly animates the clever psychological battles in ‘Kaguya-sama: Love Is War.’ Kaguya transforms ordinary moments into strategic challenges, using her understanding of people, deception, and careful observation to try and get Shirogane to confess his feelings first. She meticulously plans everything, practicing responses and preparing for any possible reaction. She even uses her friends and resources as part of elaborate schemes that play out throughout the school year.
Ray
In ‘The Promised Neverland,’ CloverWorks portrays Ray as a clever strategist who uses information as a tool for survival within a confined environment. He secretly creates alliances, deliberately misleads others, and always has backup plans in case his allies falter. Ray’s exceptional memory and composure allow him to execute long-term schemes undetected. He carefully analyzes the flaws of those in power and times his actions to coincide with shifts in guard patrols and daily routines.
Armin Arlert
In ‘Attack on Titan,’ both Wit Studio and MAPPA showcase Armin as a brilliant strategist who overcomes stronger opponents through careful planning. He anticipates his enemies’ moves and develops effective plans even when resources are scarce. Armin often uses clever tactics like decoys and misdirection, and he’s skilled at using the environment to his advantage, all while staying calm under pressure. Beyond combat, Armin is also a strong leader, able to negotiate and inspire his team to work together towards a common goal.
Roy Mustang
In ‘Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood,’ Bones portrays Roy Mustang as a strategic mastermind who views politics as a form of warfare. He carefully assesses people’s skills and assigns them roles accordingly, creates backup plans, and ensures he has plausible deniability for any public actions. Roy relies on a strong intelligence network to gain leverage, which he uses at crucial times. Ultimately, his goals aren’t just about winning fights – he also focuses on changing the government and swaying public opinion.
Sora
As a huge fan, what I find so amazing about Sora from ‘No Game No Life’ is how he basically breaks the rules. He doesn’t just play the game, he studies the fine print, figuring out how to exploit every little loophole before the match even starts. It’s all about planning – he’s a master of bluffing, knows exactly how much risk to take, and works perfectly with his sister, Shiro. He doesn’t just win, he traps his opponents, making them think they’re playing it safe when really he’s cut off all their escape routes. It’s brilliant!
Senku Ishigami
In TMS Entertainment’s ‘Dr. Stone,’ the brilliant Senku uses his scientific knowledge to overcome challenges across a vast timeframe. He rebuilds tools and technology, carefully shifting the balance of power with each advancement. Senku’s plans aren’t just ideas – they’re detailed steps that motivate his friends with clear, visible achievements. He also cleverly controls information to keep his enemies guessing what he’ll create next.
Norman
I’m always amazed by how cleverly Norman plans things in ‘The Promised Neverland’. He doesn’t just think about getting us out of places, he considers everything – how they’re watching us, how they might track us, and what little supplies we have. It’s incredible how he figures out how people will react and uses distractions to throw our enemies off. Really, he’s all about the details – where to hide supplies, the safest routes – everything is carefully calculated. What impresses me most is how he keeps things secret when he needs to, but still manages to build trust within the group, which is so important when we’re all under so much pressure.
Kurapika
In ‘Hunter x Hunter,’ Kurapika is a strategist who creates specialized chains and plans to defeat his enemies. He carefully researches his opponents to design ‘contracts’ that force them into situations where they’re likely to lose. This involves gathering information, setting up traps, and taking control of the environment. Kurapika also forms alliances, but he establishes strict rules to prevent anyone from turning against him.
Erwin Smith
In ‘Attack on Titan’, Wit Studio and MAPPA showcase Erwin’s ability to turn seemingly hopeless situations into achievable plans. He skillfully divides goals into manageable steps and assigns specific, important tasks to his teams. In Madhouse’s ‘Death Note,’ the detective L expertly investigates by creating detailed profiles based on even the smallest clues and carefully limiting the suspect’s options. He designs controlled tests to provoke a reaction that proves guilt. To protect his team and the investigation, L uses strict security measures and keeps information isolated. By constantly testing his theories as the investigation unfolds, L makes progress even when concrete evidence is scarce.
Reinhard von Lohengramm
Both the original and newer versions of ‘Legend of the Galactic Heroes’ showcase Reinhard as a brilliant military leader.
