‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ focuses on a complex set of rules that make its battles more than just displays of strength. Instead of raw power winning, fights become strategic puzzles where precise timing and understanding the rules are key. The anime carefully explains how different barriers and special abilities affect the outcome of a fight, and how characters can manipulate these rules to their advantage. A big part of the excitement comes from seeing characters cleverly work within – or break – these limitations. Ultimately, the battles in this anime are decided by how well characters understand and utilize these unique mechanics and techniques.
Yuji Itadori and Aoi Todo vs Mahito

The battle in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ centers on how Idle Transfiguration affects the soul, and why Yuji’s unique ability prevents him from being manipulated after Mahito breaks apart and reforms. Black Flash amplifies damage by maximizing energy efficiency, meaning attacks become stronger without fundamentally changing how they work. Todo’s Boogie Woogie technique disrupts Mahito’s ability to land a clean touch, forcing him to constantly adjust. Yuji and Todo work together to maintain distance and timing, preventing Mahito from gaining the continuous contact he needs to overwhelm them.
Megumi Fushiguro vs Special Grade Finger Bearer

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ Megumi uses an unfinished version of his ‘Chimera Shadow Garden’ technique. This version isn’t a guaranteed hit, but it gives him incredible control over the battlefield and how his shikigami move. He uses shadows to create confusing angles, make the ground unstable, and hide his attacks, all while keeping up the pressure. Since the domain isn’t complete, Megumi has to carefully control his position and the space around him instead of relying on a single, powerful blow. He wins by strategically using his resources and the environment to his advantage, rather than just overpowering his opponent.
Satoru Gojo vs Jogo

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ Gojo’s technique reveals how a powerful domain expansion can be used to completely overwhelm an opponent. ‘Unlimited Void’ floods enemies with so much information that they become paralyzed as the barrier closes, effectively taking away their ability to act. Because Jogo’s powers can’t handle this overload once inside, it clearly illustrates that the strength of a domain isn’t about its size, but how confidently it controls the space within. This scene serves as a prime example of how a well-executed domain expansion eliminates an opponent’s free will.
Dagon vs Nanami, Naobito, and Maki, with Toji’s Interference

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ Dagon’s domain creates a sealed battleground where opponents’ attacks almost always hit their target. While basic techniques and quick movements can lessen this advantage, it doesn’t disappear until the domain itself is broken. Toji’s entrance is significant because he doesn’t use cursed energy, meaning he bypasses the domain’s targeting system. Instead of trying to overcome the guaranteed hits directly, his presence as an outside factor causes the system to fail.
Ryomen Sukuna vs Mahoraga

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, Sukuna uses a domain expansion that doesn’t create a sealed space. Instead, it allows him to continuously slash at anything within a certain area. This constant attack forces Mahoraga, who adapts to techniques, to constantly adjust instead of figuring out one specific attack. Sukuna keeps changing his slashes and when he uses them to stay ahead of Mahoraga’s adaptation. Ultimately, the battle comes down to who can learn and control the battlefield faster.
Satoru Gojo vs Jogo and Hanami at Shibuya

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ characters use a technique called Domain Amplification as a way to temporarily cancel out an opponent’s infinite defense when they get close. While this is less powerful than fully expanding a domain, it requires precise positioning and teamwork to be effective. Gojo, a powerful character, is able to control distance and target multiple opponents, preventing their amplification fields from combining properly. Success depends more on how well the fields overlap and when they make contact, rather than just the strength of the power itself.
Ryomen Sukuna vs Jogo

During the battle between Sukuna and Jogo in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’, Jogo’s powerful attack covers city blocks with continuous slashes. Once activated, it’s difficult for Jogo to move or attack outside of its area. Since there isn’t a traditional barrier to destroy, the key to winning becomes about timing and distance. The fight highlights how open-space domain expansions make an opponent’s defeat almost certain.
Mei Mei and Ui Ui vs Smallpox Deity

This fight in ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ takes place within a special domain that creates a series of unavoidable, illness-based attacks linked to coffins and burial. Instead of simply blocking, the characters must complete a specific sequence of steps to survive. Mei Mei carefully plans her attacks and makes a binding vow to ensure a successful hit within these rules. The two fighters try to overcome this predetermined sequence and change the outcome.
Yuta Okkotsu and Rika vs Suguru Geto

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0,’ Yuta pushes his abilities past their normal limits by making powerful promises and using the stored energy of Rika. Geto’s curse techniques create a complex situation with many different attacks, making the fight about managing resources rather than just a direct clash of power. Yuta carefully plans when to activate his abilities and commitments, ensuring his power boost hits at the most crucial moments. The key to victory isn’t a single, devastating attack, but rather a smart and careful use of energy and the right conditions.
Megumi Fushiguro vs Awasaka

In ‘Jujutsu Kaisen,’ Awasaka’s unique ability reverses how damage works – strong attacks are less effective, while weaker ones do more. Megumi figures out the limits of this ability, learning to inflict harm by carefully controlling the power of his attacks. Once he understands the rule, how he moves and deceives his opponent become more important than simply being strong. Winning depends on understanding how this ability functions and landing attacks within its effective range.
