As a long-time fan of Zachary Levi, I must say I’m deeply disappointed by his recent endorsement of Donald Trump. I vividly remember the days when he played Chuck Bartowski with charm and charisma that made us all root for him. But now, it seems like he’s lost touch with reality, or perhaps he’s trying to revive a career that’s seen better days.
It’s possible you may or may not be aware, but the well-known Hollywood actor Zachary Levi, famed for playing the superhero Shazam in the DC Extended Universe, has recently expressed his support for Republican candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election. Following other celebrities such as Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence who have backed Kamala Harris, Levi now finds himself among a group of celebrities, some of whom are considered contentious and not particularly influential, who have endorsed Trump. This list includes figures like Roseanne Barr, Russell Brand, Jim Caviezel, Kelsey Grammer, Rob Schneider, Jon Voight, and James Woods.
Initially supporting Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who later dropped out of the elections and urged voters to back Trump, Levi has since chosen to align himself with Trump’s campaign, lending his influence as a prominent supporter.
It’s unclear why he chose to publicly back Trump or how closely his political beliefs align with Trump’s, but endorsing him has caused Levi numerous issues. His supporters are deeply displeased with his decision, and some have even gone as far as saying that the actor may have effectively ended his career.
In a nutshell, Levi isn’t typically considered an elite actor in Hollywood. He had a decent performance in Shazam! (though the sequel was less impressive), gained recognition through Chuck, and beyond those roles, it’s challenging to point out many major productions. While he has had some successful projects over time, Levi is not on par with actors like Robert Downey Jr. or Michael Keaton in terms of A-list status.
Still, celebrity endorsements are a thing in politics, so whatever a politician can get is usually good, because each celeb has a fanbase that they could potentially mobilize to go to an election. And while the fans are outraged, this shouldn’t come as a surprise if you remember one of his 2020 tweets:
I’m not a fan or supporter of Donald Trump, as I find his actions to be crude, insensitive, self-centered, and without compassion. However, while I don’t identify as a Conservative, I understand that some who supported him did so because they believed he was the only candidate who seemed concerned about their concerns.

It appears as though you’re making an insincere effort to explain an action you’re not proud of, and one fan made a particularly insightful remark about it in the past.
Should’ve stopped here

It appears that, as previously mentioned, Levi has chosen to publicly endorse Trump. While this is within his rights, it seems many of his supporters find this decision unpalatable, potentially leading to a substantial decrease in his fan base moving forward.
ZacharyLevi, I was under the impression that you were more rational than aligning with RobertKennedyJr towards what appears to be an anti-Christ stance. DonaldTrump as president does not embody a good man. His use of hate, cruelty, and viciousness contradicts anyone who claims to follow Christ.#JesusWept (paraphrased)

It seems like the movies or projects mentioned, such as Shazam 2 and Harold and the Purple Crayon, are not doing well. He’s setting up his argument that he’s been blacklisted due to supporting Donald Trump, and it looks like he might soon be working with Kevin Sorbo in a movie.

When he utters the magic word “Shazam” he turns into a teen who doesn’t suck.

It’s nearly hard to believe how rapidly his status changed from adored celebrity to a source of humiliation.
