As a lifelong fan of Hollywood, I’ve seen it all – the highs, the lows, and the political spectrum that spans from left to right. And let me tell you, Whoopi Goldberg‘s reprimand of Zachary Levi was as sharp as her wit in Sister Act.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to address Zachary Levi directly, regarding his recent comments about Hollywood being predominantly liberal. While I respect his right to political expression, I must express my disagreement with his assertion. In my view, his statements seem more driven by sentiment than genuine insight and logical reasoning, particularly given his support for Donald Trump during the ongoing presidential election.
During Tuesday’s episode of The View, a segment featuring Levi aired. In this segment, Levi could be heard stating that Hollywood is extremely liberal and backing the previous president could essentially end his career.
In response to the actor, Goldberg asserted that Levi’s comments may not always be accurate. Since its inception, Hollywood has been open and inclusive, regardless of individuals’ political beliefs.
She continued by explaining, “Hollywood has traditionally leaned to the right since its inception, although you might not be familiar with its history, allow me to fill you in on some details.
The actress from Sister Act shared that our group is diverse, but not everyone agrees with this perspective since many in the industry lean towards being Republicans. Later on, she mentioned the examples of Dennis Quaid and Jon Woight, both long-time Hollywood professionals who have publicly supported Republican politics.
Goldberg mentioned Chappell Roan during their discussion, pointing out that she faced significant backlash from the political left due to her remarks about encountering difficulties from various factions within the government.
In a contrasting statement, Joy Behar, one of the panelists, commented on Roan by saying, “Her praise seems subtle, and I worry that as part of the LGBTQ community, she might not fully grasp that those on the opposite side are hostile towards transgender individuals and gay rights.
He went on to say, “If he manages to get elected, unfortunately, they might repeal same-sex marriage. She should be aware of this.
Regarding Levi’s support for Trump in the upcoming elections, he stated, “I was raised in a Christian conservative family. My parents initially were Kennedy Democrats but later became Reagan Republicans. They instilled in me a balanced skepticism towards government and corporations that run unchecked.
It’s been making headlines that Zachary Levi has faced criticism lately, particularly about his views on vaccinations and the companies producing them.
