Russo Brothers Tease Possibility of Disney+ Characters Joining Next Avengers Movies After Ms Marvel Featured in 2023 Film

As a dedicated follower, I’m excitedly preparing for Joe Russo and Anthony Russo’s next epic assembly of superheroes! With Robert Downey Jr. poised to appear in forthcoming Avengers productions, donning a villainous role, the directors have shared some insight on whether the film will feature characters from the Disney+ series.

In a conversation with TechRadar, Joe and Anthony Russo were asked if they are considering introducing Disney+ characters like Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight into their upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe films. The brothers seemed reluctant to give a direct answer, but instead chose intriguing language to respond.

In relation to the basis of our storytelling, Anthony Russo stated, “We encompass the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe as our story’s context.” Later, he added, “This is the world where our tale unfolds. Feel free to interpret that as you wish.

In the upcoming Avengers films, some eagerly awaited characters are set to make their appearance. These include The Punisher, portrayed by Jon Bernthal, and Daredevil, acted by Charlie Cox. Moreover, it’s likely that Wiccan, Ms. Marvel, and She-Hulk will also be joining the ranks of superheroes.

Last year at San Diego Comic-Con, it was revealed that both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars would be released, in addition to the surprising news that the Oppenheimer actor will rejoin the Marvel Cinematic Universe once more.

In the upcoming scenes, Robert Downey Jr., known for his portrayal of Tony Stark (Iron Man), will take on the role of one of Marvel comics’ most formidable antagonists: Dr. Victor Von Doom, also recognized as Dr. Doom. This character initially appeared as a nemesis to the Fantastic Four but eventually poses a danger to humanity as a whole.

In the upcoming Marvel Studios production, titled “Thunderbolts,” we’ll see Florence Pugh stepping into the role of the reimagined Black Widow, while Sebastian Stan takes on his character Bucky Barnes, also known as the Winter Soldier. Additionally, Lewis Pullman will join them as Sentry in this exciting ensemble cast.

2026 can’t come soon enough for me! That’s when I’ll finally get to witness the battle in Avengers: Doomsday, released on May 1st. But just a year later, on May 7th, 2027, my excitement will reach new heights with the arrival of Avengers: Secret Wars. And if that isn’t enough Marvel madness for you, there’s Thunderbolts coming out a bit earlier on May 2nd, 2025. I can hardly wait!
