For quite some time, there had been preparations underway regarding the proposal. D’K Metcalf mentioned that he had attempted to make the proposal the previous year, yet finding an appropriate moment was challenging due to Normani’s demanding schedule as a recording artist.
To enhance the occasion, he went the extra mile before proposing by delivering her flowers along with a tale. He mentioned that the last word among the flowers spelled out “Will you marry me?”, and she agreed happily.
In 2022, Normani and Metcalf started dating after being matched up through Russell Wilson and Ciara. Previously, both of them had been teammates on the Seattle Seahawks. Later in July 2023, Normani made their relationship public by posting a picture showing Metcalf giving her a kiss on the cheek.
