Today, there’s a triple update for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Patch 1.2 tackles more than 1,000 problems, a free Barbershop DLC is included, and Steam modding support becomes available for custom gameplay experiences.
Patch 1.2 represents a product of five-month labor dedicated to fine-tuning and enhancing the gameplay. A vast array of adjustments and repairs have been made, but for brevity, I’ll only spotlight a few notable ones.
Beyond the usual performance enhancements and stability upgrades, one significant alteration is that “Mutt is no longer permitted in the combat zone within the Jewish district.” This might be due to him not being Jewish or not being a fighter. The graphics for cattle death animations and ragdoll effects have been refined, and there’s also a rebalance on how quickly food can go bad, meaning you’ll need to cook less frequently. Additionally, Henry’s liver is now more robust as the level that causes him to faint from drunkenness has been adjusted.
Those who prefer covert playstyles will appreciate the adjustments made to pickpocketing difficulty and stealth stats across all garments. New apparel and equipment tailored for stealth-based gameplay have been introduced, enhancing the experience for sneaky players. Moreover, taking a hit no longer prevents you from quickly drawing your weapon, ensuring readiness in response to potential attacks. On the downside, there’s a brief pause following an attack when not focused on an enemy, discouraging rapid, spammy attacks during combat. Additionally, enemies will be less likely to pull out ranged weapons during melee encounters, eliminating the need for you to carry a sword against crossbow-wielding adversaries.
The NPCs in this game need to feel more realistic and engaging overall. We’ve enhanced their daily routines, plus added numerous animations that reflect their everyday activities and tasks. For a comprehensive look at all the updates, don’t forget to glance over the patch notes conveniently located here.
Through one of several upcoming free downloadable content packages, Henry will be granted barber services. Whether you opt to style his hair or give him a clean shave, he’ll receive a temporary boost in charm following each grooming session.
As a passionate gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to discover that modders have been granted an unprecedented level of control! They can now tinker with more than 300 aspects of the game, ranging from user interface enhancements and strategic combat adjustments to RPG system refinements and even AI behavior modifications. This means that they can not only fine-tune existing elements but also completely overhaul the entire game if desired! The possibilities are truly endless!
If you’re curious for more details, check out the upcoming developer livestream scheduled for March 20. Meanwhile, the update has already gone live.
