Miles Morales has garnered widespread popularity, largely due to the phenomenal success of the animated Spider-Verse film franchise. The impending third installment of this series has sparked great anticipation among viewers, who are eager for Miles’ live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
At the recent D23 event in Brazil, I learned from Marvel Studios’ boss, Kevin Feige, that there might be a chance of Miles being introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe shortly following the release of his third animated film.
He mentioned that he’s set to appear in the third “Spider-Verse”, and he’s looking forward to introducing his character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a live-action setting soon.
At a recent press conference announcing Fantastic Four: First Steps, Feige emphasized that we shouldn’t expect this project to launch any time in the near future.
It’s been made clear by Sony Pictures that they own the rights to the character Miles Morales. Therefore, Marvel has been instructed not to involve Miles in any projects until the third installment of the Spider-Man animated series, “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse” (2027), is completed. Feige was straightforward when he stated, “That’s off the table.
We’re not going anywhere with the character until Sony Pictures finishes its animated Miles trilogy, scheduled for release in 2027 with ‘SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE’. So, for now, let’s keep a distance.
In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Holland (the actor portraying our web-slinging hero, Spider-Man) has shown a desire to join forces with Miles at some point in the future.
He expressed his desire to guide the young Spider-Man much like Robert Downey Jr. was guided by him. However, at this point, it seems that fans will need to be patient before witnessing Miles Morales sharing the screen with Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in live-action.
