their lives during middle school. The original creator of the series, Ichiei Ishibumi, is supervising this new project to ensure it stays true to the spirit of the High School DxD universe.
Rippū Shinonome is writing the plot for a new series of novels, which are being beautifully illustrated by Miyama-Zero. The debut novel from this series hit shelves on May 17, 2023, and the second installment followed on November 20, 2023.
High School DxD started out as a light novel collection penned by Ichiei Ishibumi and illustrated by Miyama-Zero, launched in the year 2008. The narrative revolves around Issei Hyoudou, a high school lad who transforms into a devil after his unfortunate demise during his initial date. It offers an enticing blend of action, humor, and otherworldly aspects, not forgetting to include plenty of fan-pleasing elements. The series concluded with its 25th volume in March 2018.
Following the completion of the initial High School DxD series, author Ishibumi and illustrator Miyama-Zero carried on the tale with a subsequent series named Shin High School DxD, debuting in July 2018. To date, Kadokawa has released four volumes of this continuation. Furthermore, there exists another spinoff novel series called High School DxD DX, consisting of standalone stories and encompassing seven published volumes as of now.
English-speaking enthusiasts can now enjoy various aspects of the franchise thanks to Yen Press, as they’ve localized numerous elements for the Western market. This includes translating the original High School DxD novels and the manga adaptation penned by Hiroji Mishima, which spans 11 volumes. Additionally, Yen Press has also taken care of the translation for another manga series titled High School DxD: Asia & Koneko’s Secret Contract!? authored by Hiroichi.
