As a lifelong metalhead with decades of headbanging under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for Judas Priest’s Invincible Shield tour! Having grown up listening to their iconic tunes, it’s an absolute dream come true to see them live again, especially with the addition of Sabaton, a band that has consistently delivered high-energy performances.
Legendary heavy metal group Judas Priest is back in North America for an exhilarating tour to support their upcoming album, Invincible Shield. This new release, their 19th studio album, came out on March 8, 2024, and there are still tickets available (you can check the band’s official website for details). Fans can look forward to a series of intense performances as Judas Priest embarks on this tour with Sabaton, a renowned Swedish power metal band, joining them as special guests.
The tour commences on September 13th at Montreal’s Bell Centre, followed by a string of headlining concerts in the U.S. and Canada. In addition to these shows, Judas Priest will grace significant music festivals such as Louder Than Life and Aftershock. Pre-booking for this tour started on June 12th, while general ticket sales went live two days later, on June 14th.
The heavy metal band Judas Priest released a new album titled “Invincible Shield,” their first since 2018’s “Firepower.” This new work is produced by Andy Sneap, who has been touring with the group as a guitarist ever since Glenn Tipton retired due to Parkinson’s disease. In recent times, Sneap has significantly contributed to the band’s sound, both in studio sessions and live performances.
Judas Priest’s current roster features original bassist Ian Hill, vocalist Rob Halford, guitarists Glenn Tipton (who still contributes to the band’s recordings and occasionally performs live), Richie Faulkner, drummer Scott Travis, and touring guitarist Andy Sneap. While Tipton doesn’t tour extensively, he continues to be part of the band’s recording process. This tour presents an opportunity for fans to experience these heavy metal icons playing both new songs and timeless classics live.
Who is Sabaton?
Sabaton, renowned for their history-centric power metal, will offer robust backing, ensuring this tour is a must-attend event for metal fans. They are often labeled as one of the leading quartet in power metal music. The fact that they’re collaborating with Sabaton underscores their dedication to providing an intense and captivating live performance.
