As a lifestyle expert and someone who values the richness and complexity of people’s lives, I am deeply moved by the story of Mamie Laverock and her miraculous recovery after a tragic fall. The resilience and strength she has shown throughout this ordeal are truly inspiring.
Mamie Laverock, a member of the When Calls the Heart cast, fell from a height of five stories in May 2024 and was put on life support. Subsequently, she was transferred to an intensive care unit at a hospital in Vancouver. Lately, her family has decided to close down the GoFundMe page they had set up two months after Laverock went through this unexpected medical crisis.
A post on the GoFundMe page, updated on July 17 by Nicole Rockmann and Rob Compton on behalf of actress Laverock, contained a message that seemed to be in her own words. She expressed her deep appreciation to those who had donated, saying “I can’t find the right words to express my gratitude. My heart is filled with thanks.”
I’m truly touched by your kindness once again. Words can’t express how appreciative I am. I adore each one of you. Sending my heartfelt thanks, it’s me – MAMIE.
More details about the fundraiser
In May this year, based on a GoFundMe page set up by her parents Rob and Nicole Compton, actress Mamie Laverock had undergone several surgeries and was receiving life support. But by July 2024, the fundraiser had been extremely effective in raising funds.
In their latest update on July 17th for the online fundraiser, Nicole and Rob expressed their gratitude: “The fundraising campaign has come to an end. We’ve surpassed our target of $30,000 CAD, raising a total of $39,022. We deeply appreciate your kindness and support during our most challenging times.”
Earlier on the fundraiser page, the family provided updates on the actress’s condition, mentioning that she had endured two lengthy 11-hour surgeries, with two medical professionals working tirelessly to help her. The unfortunate event left her physically devastated.
Details about Mamie Laverock’s recovery
Nicole Rockmann, Laverock’s mom, shared with PEOPLE the heartwarming story of their emotional reunion, which she called a miracle. On Facebook, on June 26th, Nicole updated everyone about Laverock’s progress: “I want to express my gratitude for your healing thoughts for Mamie. Though Mamie made it through her injuries, her journey to recovery is expected to be a lengthy one.”
Previously, on May 26, 2024, in an update for the fundraiser, Rockmann shared that “Mamie is in better shape than when she first arrived. She’s managing well after undergoing extensive surgeries.”
In May, her loved ones expressed hopes for a quick recovery after they learned about her health condition. From 2014 to 2023, she appeared in nine episodes of “When Calls the Heart,” portraying Rosaleen Sullivan on the show.
