1/7/2025 – Discovery+ Increases the Cost of its Ad-Free and Ad-Supported Plans

2025 saw our initial price adjustment on the first day of the year. Discovery+ raised the cost for both its ad-free and ad-supported streaming plans. If you’re a subscriber to this service, here are the changes you can anticipate. Starting from January 7th, 2025, the cost for Discovery+’s ad-supported tier will rise from $4.99 to $5.99, marking a $1 increase for the platform. This is the first price adjustment for the ad-supported Discovery+ since its launch in 2021. On the other hand, the ad-free tier of Discovery+ will also see an increase, rising from $9.99 to $10.99, a monthly cost hike of $1. However, it’s important to note that back in October 2023, Discovery+’s streaming costs were already bumped up from $6.99 to $8.99. This means over the past two years, the ad-free option on Discovery+ has seen an increase of $3 per month.
