As a long-time League of Legends player and avid fan of the Arcane animated series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about the upcoming physical media releases! The anticipation has been building ever since the show premiered on Netflix last year and was denied a physical release. Now, with the announcement of the Collector’s Edition, 4K UHD SteelBooks, and Blu-ray sets, my excitement is at an all-time high.
In the year 2021, the Netflix premiere of the animated series “Arcane,” derived from the widely played video game “League of Legends,” created quite a stir among fans and critics. However, similar to other shows that first appeared on streaming platforms, there was no physical copy available for purchase. But now, exciting news for collectors! The series will soon come out with a Collector’s Edition (limited-run), 4K Ultra HD, and SteelBook Standard Editions in both Blu-Ray and Digital Download formats. Preorders are open for all editions at present.
For “Arcane” enthusiasts, here’s what they can look forward to: This special Collector’s Edition comes in a sturdy clamshell box adorned with unique artwork. Inside, you’ll find all nine episodes in stunning 4K resolution, enhanced with Dolby Vision HDR. Moreover, the set includes standard Blu-ray discs for the entire series. As a bonus, this limited edition also offers exclusive content only available in the Collector’s Edition.
As a longtime fan of the League of Legends universe, I can’t help but be excited about this limited edition Piltover Progress Day collectible set! This isn’t just a simple poster; it’s a work of art in itself, with one side showcasing the iconic progress day celebration from Piltover, while the other bears the mischievous touch of Jinx.
The 4K UHD SteelBook comes with an attractive Jinx-themed cover, holding the complete nine-episode series spread over three 4K UHD discs. Moreover, there’s a bonus Blu-ray disc offering over three hours of extra content. In contrast, the Standard SteelBook edition sports a Vi-themed exterior and includes the same nine-episodes and accompanying bonus features across three discs.
Three Blu-ray discs in the Standard Blu-ray edition showcase the series and extra content from Shout! Studios on October 8, 2024. SteelBook editions, too, join the lineup that day. Exclusive conversations with creators and writers are included as bonus features across all physical versions. Additionally, studio Fortiche animation staff provide scene analyses, “making-of” videos, and more. Starting September 24, 2024 in North America, Arcane can be purchased digitally for permanent download.
